Sweden-based photography startup YouPic secures €500K

Sweden-based photography learning platform YouPic is strengthening its market position thanks to a new funding round worth €500K. As well as new investors, the round also includes further investment from Chalmers Innovation Seed Fund.

YouPic was established in 2013 to develop a community for all photography enthusiasts to take their photography to the next level. You can find high quality inspiration, learn and achieve mastery in all categories of photography.

The funds will enable YouPic to accelerate user growth, continue product development and strengthen its position as the place for photographers to learn and improve their photography.

Navid Razazi, founder and CEO of YouPic, said: “Through our new partnerships and investment we aim to continue our success in the emerging photography sector and help millions take better photos.”

Nick Evans Lombe, former COO of Getty Images, who has backed YouPic and will bring important industry knowledge to the company, says: “Photography continues to be one of the fastest growing pastimes in the world, and many people are driven to take their skills to the level where they practice their craft professionally.”

Per Sahlin, of Chalmers Innovation Seed Fund, said: “YouPic targets a fantastic market with creative and skilled photographers. The team has shown their ability to continuously deliver an outstanding service with engaged users and high growth.”
