Yes you read that right! Startups from across the world are invited to Pitch Days starting this month until March to present their ideas. Ten startups will then be selected to start the accelerator in April.
As Europe’s first business accelerator for materials the programme provides a gateway supporting innovation in our health and lifestyle. Anique Soetermeer, Managing Director, Startupbootcamp Smart Materials, said: “We encounter an increasing need for smart materials. This field of expertise needed its own accelerator program. So we teamed up with Brightlands Chemelot Campus to foster the ultimate ecosystem where science and business together will engineer a great future for businesses in sustainable smart materials.”
Each team accepted will receive € 15,000 an office space for six months at Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen. Brightlands Chemelot Campus offers a wealthy partner network of companies such as DSM, Rabobank, LIOF, EY, Brightlands Chemelot Campus, and backed by Chemelot Ventures. By providing R&D, productions facilities, pilot plants, suppliers, clients and expertise of 150 mentors the accelerator will turn technology into successful businesses.
Founders of Startupbootcamp HighTechXL together with the business Development team of Brightlands will lead the accelerator. Hugo Delissen of Brightlands and co-founder stated: “Brightlands Chemelot Campus provides a unique ecosystem, in which multinationals, startups, SMEs, service providers, educational organizations and scientific centers collaborate. This is the best environment for any high potential company in smart materials.”
