Axel Springer Plug and Play announces new batch of startups

This month, 10 new startups will be moving into the offices of the Axel Springer Plug and Play accelerator in Berlin, the third round of startups to move in since the accelerator’s founding. They’ll be using the offices as their base to develop their products, build their companies, and work towards follow-up financing. Based on the positive experiences of the first years, Axel Springer Plug & Play will be holding three program rounds in 2014.

A remarkable fact about the accelerator: In the first three months of 2014, every startup that took part in the first round of the program received follow-up financing from external investors!

Today also marks the release of the first image video from the Berlin-based accelerator. The video, which you’ll find below this article, gives a peek into life in the accelerator, showing the alumni teams and their mentors hard at work. If their image video sparks your interest, make sure to prepare for their next application round (April 22 until May 18).

And here are the 10 new startups from Batch III which are moving in this month:

-Adincon: A piece of technology that ensures the most optimized placement of in-content ads, helping content publishers maximize their revenue.

-InStaff: An online marketplace for temp work that enables employers to search through profiles of eligible temp employees and directly book them for work online.

-Leinentausch.de: A portal that lets dog owners book a host of pet services, from dog walking to dog sitting.

-Milo Networks: A micro-location network for smartphones, equipping retailers with micro-location technology and also selling these network possibilities to app providers.

-Orat.io: A service which lets websites and blogs get real reader feedback instead of just comments, along with easy-to-comprehend analytics.

-Pagido: A financial management tool for freelancers that offers help with invoice generation and invoice factoring.

-ShareTheMeal: A non-profit initiative that enables smartphone users to donate school lunches to children in parts of the world where hunger is a serious issue.

-SnapClip: An online video platform that enables users to edit, create and share videos in the cloud.

-truffls: A service which connects job-seekers with employers – fully automated, simply and quickly.

-Yeppt: A new app that helps groups of friends make quick decisions – just the thing for spontaneous meet-ups.
