Books have the power to transform lives and businesses. In our section “The favourite books of…”, we introduce you to the favourite books of some of the most successful internet entrepreneurs. Today we’re looking at the bookshelf of Dave Morin and Jason Fried:
Dave Morin, co-founder and CEO of Path
In 2013 VentureVillage asked Dave about the three must-read books he would recommend to an entrepreneur (Update – May 2023: The article seems to be not visible anymore, and we therefore deactivated the original link). He named the following three: 1) Thinking, Fast and Slow: A book that offers a whole new look at the way our minds work, and how we make decisions; 2) Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson: The exclusive biography of Apple founder Steve Jobs; and, 3) The Tipping Point: Malcolm Gladwell’s best selling which describes how little things can make a big difference.
Jason Fried, co-founder of 37signals (now Basecamp)
According to BusinessInsider, Jason Fried has commented that Against The Odds by James Dyson is “one of the best books about design, business, invention, and entrepreneurship I’ve ever read”. The book is the autobiography of one of the most successful English inventors. Jason Fried said about this book that “It’s really inspirational. His persistence is otherworldly,”… and he continued: “You won’t believe what he went through to get this product to market.”
