Amsterdam-based traveltech startup Tiqets secures $450K

Tiqets, an Amsterdam-based travel tech startup, has just received seed funding of $450K by Investion. The young company provides a unique service that makes it possible for travel companies to easily sell entertainment activities to their customers. The Tiqets database includes more than 15 million tickets to over 1 million events in 2000 cities in the world.

Tiqets, which was founded earlier this year, will us the fresh capital to build up more local content, develop mobile tools and improve their database service to their industry partners. Tiqets currently employs 11 employees, among which five are senior developers.

Christiaan Solcer, co-founder of Tiqets, explains: “We want to enable travel organisations to offer a complete travel experience to their customers. Offering unique and directly bookable entertainment via all possible touchpoints: website, emails, televisions or through in flight screens. Tiqets will solely focus on the Travel Industry to provide a unique service for their customers.”

Friso Jiskoot, partner of Investion, stated: “Tiqets comes at a time when most travel organisations try hard to fight the competition and are looking for ways to increase earnings of tourists’ spending”. He continued: “We’re very proud to add Tiqets to our portfolio of promising ventures. They possess the pure entrepreneurial and innovative spirit that can make a startup grow big”.
