The London-based mapping startup also unveiled its first API.

Launched in July this year, what3words is a free service that grids the world into 3 metre x 3 metre squares, giving each grid square a unique address of just three words from the dictionary. The launch of what3words’ API will enable third party developers and businesses to build products that leverage the ease and precision of describing locations using what3words’ unique patent-pending technology.
