Boston-based Hungarian startup Sold is acquired by Dropbox

Sold, the Hungarian startup based in Boston has just been acquired by Dropbox, and are now shutting down their services.

Sold focused their services on people too busy to use Ebay, offering users a special algorithm that provided a much better average price on goods. Their services also included packaging solutions, adding that extra value for their users. The company had secured $1.2 million from big name investors like Google Ventures, Greylock Partners and Matrix Partners.

The whole acquisition process took approximately 4 weeks, and the 9 people that make up Sold’s team will join Dropbox, creating a separate team within the organisation.
