Italian ad startup ADmantX raises €1 million with Atlante Ventures

The Naples-based advertising web service ADmantX has raised €1 million in a Series B round with Atlante Ventures Mezzogiorno (Update – March 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

The new round comes after the company closed a first round on June 2011 at €2 million. The fresh capital will be used to boost its international expansion in the US, Germany, UK and French markets.

ADmantX is one of the first Italian companies specialised in advertising semantic targeting. Based on the semantic web, natural language processing and social collaboration, ADmantX allows publishers, ad networks, brand managers and agencies to develop effective online advertising campaigns.

Their technology reads and reasons over content just like people do and it is able to identify people, places, brands, companies, ideas, concepts and topics that the content describes. But this is not all – ADmantX can also identify emotions, behaviours and motivations elicited by the content too.

All these elements are then used to match content and ads, avoiding the mistakes of keyword based systems, and assuring better matching and higher click-through rates.

ADmantX is already present in the most important online advertising technology platforms like Appnexus and has won important customers like At&t, Cnbc, Banzai, and Adsafe.
