Austrian game studio Pro 3 Games nabs funding from iVentureCapital

The Austrian game studio Pro 3 Games just secured an investment from iVentureCapital (Update – March 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link). Pro 3 Games develops social browser games and is currently working on the 3D-space role-playing game (RPG), Starforce Delta, which will be launched as a beta version in December.

Pro 3 Games has taken a new approach while developing one of the world’s first social browser games: ‘Starforce Delta’ is not a classic massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, but an asynchronous multi-player game. This means that the game works like any other social game, in which players share the same universe, but do not necessarily play simultaneously. This role-playing game’s functionality is also enhanced with a number of social and viral capabilities, allowing users to share their progress as they would in a social game. The sci-fi game also features console-like, premium-quality 3D graphics based on the most advanced Adobe Flash and Away3D technology.

Alexander Seifert, CEO of Pro 3 Games, described the development of their social browser game: “Over time, we want to build a community that will be an active force in the continuing development of the ‘Starforce Delta’ universe. This can take the form of player alliances or other actions which can influence the storyline of the entire game. iVentureCapital understands our vision, and we look forward to working together.”

Michael Reul Michael Reul, co-founder and CEO of iVentureCapital, added: “The innovative approach taken by Pro 3 Games has great potential to attract new target audiences and to foster an active player community. Apart from their years of experience in game development, the startup team have particularly impressed us with their technical prowess, which puts ‘Starforce Delta’ into the same league as PlayStation 3 games on a visual level.”

iVentureCapital is not alone in siding with the Pro 3 Games team. At the Pioneers Festival in Vienna, a tech startup competition, ‘Starforce Delta’ prevailed against other Austrian contestants as the game that is ‘most promising’ and ‘most capable of competing’ in the market.
