grafetee-logoThe Helsinki-based geo-location app Grafetee is now being beta tested with Finland’s police force, who will be monitoring images and text submitted through a certain channel on Grafetee (Update – February 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website and we therefore deactivated the link). Police will also be able to send location-based updates to warn users of situations. The app is both location-aware and time-sensitive. LoungeUp-logoLoungeUp, a French startup that provides a platform to enable hotels to jump on the mobile app bandwagon, has just raised a seed round of “several hundred thousand euros” from Pôle Capital and several Angels. LoungeUp’s mobile app helps hotels keep their guests happy through a better interface for hotel services as well local partnerships. Textmaster-logoAfter 6 months of activity, nearly 7 million processed words and almost 25,000 users, the French translation startup Textmaster just announced its relaunch. Textmaster.com, which is available in English, French, Spanish and German, offers a professional translation, copy-writing and proofreading content service for agencies, SMEs or large corporations (Update – February 2023: The article seems to be not visible anymore, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

France-Digitale-logoFrance Digitale, an association created to lobby the French government, just announced its launch. Partnering with Ernst & Young, France Digital put out a definitive report on the economic and social impact of tech startups in France. Looking at 108 French startups with an average age of seven years, the study looked at the key figures in 2010 and 2011. Find out more and visit the RudeBaguette.
