There’s a lot going on right now in the field of food delivery platforms (especially in Germany). Last month, for instance, we reported about a police raid on Delivery Hero’s headquarters in Berlin. The reason for this was the suspicion that Lieferheld could be in some way related with DDoS-attacks against competitor lieferando.
The latest news is that lieferando (yourdelivery Group) has concluded a €15 million round of financing. The young company, which is also based in Berlin, has attracted more than €20 million in investment since its launch. The current financing round was led by the Australian investor Macquarie Capital Group. The existing shareholders also participated in the current financing round.
lieferando.de is part of the yourdelivery Group, whose online meal delivery platforms are today present in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and France.
David Standen, the Senior Managing Director of Macquarie Capital, stated: “We are pleased to support lieferando.de’s vision to become a market leader in its core markets. We are impressed with what the team has achieved to date and believe that the business has significant growth ahead of it, as it continues to focus on providing an exceptional customer experience”.
