Like with every other language on it’s completely free to start learning Japanese. However, you have the option to pay a minimal monthly fee to become a Premium Member. The Premium Membership gives you access to additional functionalities and more material (as PDFs, podcasts and voice recording exercises). was founded in 2008 by Bernhard Niesner and Adrian Hilti and has grown to be Europe’s largest online community for learning languages. Today, counts over 6 million users online and 6 million users on its busuu mobile apps. The young company will soon be adding Chinese as the next supported language.
