Berlin-based buyback service Momox expands into France and the UK

Momox GmbH, the Berlin-based online buyback service for media products, has just launched its platform in France and the UK.

Momox was founded in 2006 by Christian Wegner, who operated the business from his apartment at that time. Today the company has grown to approximately 400 employees and is turning over more than €23 million annually with the trading of second-hand books, CDs, DVDs and games.

For Momox customers the sales process is very easy – they just enter the barcode number of a book, game, DVD, or CD online and receive an immediate purchase offer from Momox. The customers then send the items to Momox without any delivery charges. Momox will pay the consumers once the items are received. The young company then sells the products on its online shop, or to other online and offline shops.

Christian Wegner, Momox’s CEO, also stated that he plans to expand the buyback service into some more European countries soon, although the specific countries have yet to be announced.
