The Propeller Venture Accelerator, which is part of the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship, is holding its first Demo and Investor Day in Citywest, Dublin, on the 6 May.

Over seventy investors, from Ireland, the US, the UK and Italy are due to see pitches bythe six technology companies from the mentor-led incubation programme. The participating startups, five from Ireland and one from the UK, cover key technologies such as mobile applications, online gaming, health informatics, internet applications and cleantech.

The Propeller Venture Accelerator was established in 2010 with €1 million in funding from Irelandia Investments and Declan Ryan of Ryanair. Their aim is to accelerate early-stage technology startup companies, both Irish and international, in Dublin, taking the successful US accelerator model and adapting it to the Irish context. Over 40 high corporate mentors from a range of high technology companies, as well as serial entrepreneurs, have been working with the Propeller companies over the last 3 months.
