Stockholm-based Voddler, a video content system, receives $8 million

The video space is certainly hot for investment right now. After the acquisitions of stakes in Lovefilm and goviral, there is now another European service that has big news to announce.

Voddler, the Stockholm-based provider of a virtual cable TV system, has received $8 million in a funding round led by Nokia Growth Partners.

Founded in 2005, Voddler is a service similar to Netflix, providing content, entertainment and knowledge to its international users. It has about 850,000 customers in Scandinavia, and is available right now voddler for consumers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
