Berlin-based SoundCloud has reached 3 million registered users

German musictech company SoundCloud, the audio sharing platform that has grown out of Berlin, has announced today that it has reached 3 million registered users. This announcement means growth of about 1 million users in the last 100 days.

Founded in 2007 by Eric Wahlforss and Alexander Ljung, SoundCloud began, and continues to be, a musician-focused audio platform, but has most recently also expanded into all sorts of audio sharing. Users can access the site to upload, promote, and share audio bites and songs.

The audio distribution platform offers its users free accounts, as well as premium accounts for advanced features like controlled distribution, custom branding and statistics.
