German online dating platform eDarling recently launched its online dating service in Russia and Turkey, with both softlanding into the new markets at the beginning of 2011.
The Berlin-based company Affinitas GmbH started eDarling in 2009. The German dating platform is now operating in eleven European countries, with this new expansion, eDarling is setting the foundation for further growth towards market leadership in Europe. By the end of the year, eDarling wants to double its user base up to 10 million members across Europe.
Christian Vollmann, Managing Director of eDarling commented on the geographical expansion: “Both markets are a great challenge for us because there are differences to our Western European home markets in regard to the cultural context and the technical infrastructure.”
