Atomico Ventures has just invested $500K in the Dutch fashion site Fashiolista (Update – December 2022: The startup seems to be no longer in business and we therefore deactivated the link).
The young company, which is based in Amsterdam, was launched in 2010 at The Next Web conference. Fashion victims from all over the world can share their style and get fashion inspiration using Fashiolista.
So how does it work exactly? With the Fashiolista-bookmarker, or with a browser extension, registered users can ‘love’ fashion items that they find in fashion shops all over the web. These loved products can then be seen by other fashionistas within the fashiolista platform.
