The DW-World recently published an overview of the status of European tech startups in general. The conclusion of this story is that European tech startups continue to lag behind. The website mentioned the dominance of Silicon Valley players at this year’s LeWeb in Paris, for example.
According to this article, here are four negative elements that harm the European startup scene:
- Many European startups limit themselves to only a few languages, like French and German. This makes the European market a lot smaller.
- There are too few successful entrepreneurs that are reinvesting their money back into the European ecosystem.
- Tax incentives and subsidies are not doing enough to encourage private sector investors.
- The European startup scene isn’t connected enough yet (although, we as a European startup magazine are trying to fix this) 🙂
Speaking about the connected European startup scene, do you have your ticket for the upcoming EU-Startups Summit?
