The DW-World recently covered the situation of European tech startups in general. The conclusion of this story is that European tech startups continue to lag behind. As an indication for this statement the website mentioned the dominance of Silicon Valley-players at this year’s LeWeb in Paris. Here are some negative facts that harm the European startup-scene:
1. Many European startups limit themselves to only a few languages, like French and German. This makes the European market a lot smaller.
2. There are too few successfull entrepreneurs that are reinvesting their money back into the European ecosystem.
3. Tax incentives and subsidies are not doing enough to encourage private-sector investors.
4. The European startup-scene isn’t connected enough yet – we as a European startup-magazine are trying to fix this. 🙂
