Key Role:
Conduct background research for evaluating the feasibility and commercial applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients. Assist with technical program management, program development, and briefing materials for R&D efforts. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients and provide technical and strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers.

Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience in chemistry or material science related to electrochemical energy storage development
-2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non-technical audiences
-2+ years of experience with postdoctoral, industry research, or consulting work
-Degree in Inorganic, Organic, or Electro-Chemistry or Materials Science

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with energy-related material development, including electrochemical aspects of metallurgy, hetero- and homogeneous catalysis, polymers for high strength composites, materials corrosion and leaching, and analytical chemistry that applies to those topics
-Experience with technical consulting
-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
-Ability to be flexible in work topics, adapt to new people and perspectives, and display enthusiasm to work in a collaborative team environment
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills on complex technical subjects

Responsibilities

analysing samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present;
using analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as gas and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion chromatography, electrochromatography and spectroscopy (infrared and ultraviolet, amongst others);
interpreting data and meeting strict guidelines on documentation when recording data;
reporting scientific results;
developing techniques for the analysis of drug products and chemicals;
working collaboratively in cross-functional teams;
liaising with customers, staff and suppliers;
being aware of, and keeping up to date with, health and safety issues;
validating methods and equipment.
