What we need – a driven and ambitious Chief Technology Officer

At our current early stage of growth, we need an excellent, driven, ambitious CTO to help us build and scale our platform, managing all strategic and operational aspects.

You will take full ownership of the IT strategic plan, ensuring successful development, implementation and a continuous improvement cycle of our platform, built on AWS IOT Core.

You will be responsible for setting and driving a strong IT engineering culture by leading a skilled remote (European) development team. You will also be invested in the commercial goals of the business and strategically align the IT function to this.

You and your team will own

  • All strategic and operational engineering functions
  • System architecture
  • Product design
  • Management of the product development and implementation to achieve the strategic plan
  • The Installation and customer improvement process
  • The day to day customer data and operations

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Build, organise and manage the engineering team to execute the delivery of solutions
  • Lead, motivating and inspire the team for high performance and high engagement
  • Oversee and standardise development, test, deployment and operating processes
  • Track, analyse and monitor team with performance metrics
  • Lead in innovation, creating and driving efficiencies in the team Platform*
  • Lead technology architect to align business priorities
  • Oversee platform design and changes in system architecture
  • Ensure the platform is secure, scalable with high availability
  • Oversee platform design and changes in system architecture
  • Platform change management guaranteeing customer data security, disaster recovery and integrity
  • Collaborate and manages vendors that supply products/services to enhance the product
  • Track, analyse and monitor operating platform with performance metrics Business*
  • Focus on external customer needs
  • Oversee the technology budget to ensure value from investment
  • Communicate technology strategy to internal and external audiences, including new clients, shareholders and the Board
  • Evaluate new technology and makes recommendations on technological solutions
  • Oversees the management of the digital media assets

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 10+ years of honed expertise as a technical software architect with at least 5 years in leadership
  • Data integration and API feeds experience
  • Experience of commissioning and managing technical projects and contracts
  • Knowledge of communication technology including WiFi, 2G, 4G and local communication hubs
  • A skilled operator in web hosting and device operations
  • Experience in system integration and working with Telematics, GPS and RFID/Beacon.
  • An interest in IoT (Internet of Things) and in environmental issues to save the planet!

  • Start-up experience and ability to build-to-scale
