Invitation to join the Hangzhou International Startup Competition 2019 (Sponsored)

Curious about startup opportunities in China? Participating in the Hangzhou International Startup Competition is a great way to way for European founders to learn about the startup, business, and living environments in the beautiful city of Hangzhou.

To meet the demand for the rapid economic developments and upgrade its industry and service sectors, Hangzhou is calling for startups innovating in various fields to join 2019 Hangzhou International Startup Competition. You are cordially invited to participate in this competition. If you are interested in starting up or expanding your business into China, this is a great opportunity to get know about the beautiful city Hangzhou in China as well as China in general.

The initial selection based on submitted application materials will be done in September, and the Semi-Finals and Final event will then take place in early November 2019 in Hangzhou, China.

Each invited team that comes to Hangzhou for the pitch presentation for the Semi-Final event will be compensated with 20,000 RMB (around $2,800) to cover various international travel expenses. In addition, all accommodation and transportation expenses (for up to two members of the team) during the period of stay at Hangzhou will be covered by the organizer.

Each member of the invited team will also be compensated with 7,000 RMB for travel expenses if they attend the “2019 Hangzhou International Human Resources Exchanges and Cooperation Conference”. The conference will invite at most two members for each invited team.

The selected teams will spend several days in Hangzhou for tours and matchmaking meetings. This is an excellent opportunity to explore and experience the business and living environments in Hangzhou and China.

The 1st-place winner will be awarded 200,000 RMB, 2nd-place winner will be 100,000 RMB, and 3rd place winner will be awarded 50,000 RMB.

The Prize-winning startups will be granted various funds (up to 5million RMB) to subsidize the company’s research and development expenses, such as R&D related employee costs, equipment purchases, etc., under the condition that the company registers and starts operating in Hangzhou within one year after the Final.
