The second edition of the global technology, startup, policy and lifestyle Digital Freedom Festival is going to take place November 27th and 28th in Riga.
We will be there – as well as Kathryn Myronuk, founder of the world leading think-tank at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley Singularity University, Paul Bragiel – investor and advisory board member of Uber, and tech PR specialist Ayelet Noff. These are just three examples of exciting long list of speakers.
Digital Freedom Festival Co-Founder Dagnija Lejina stated: “This year the festival will once again gather interesting speakers, global tech sharks, from whom we can gain inspiration and learn from their knowledge and experience. Yesterday’s news is today’s reality, but tomorrow, possibly, it will already be history – it’s at such a great and head-spinning speed that the technology sector is advancing. If we want to be competitive, we must be at the epicentre of the developmental flow.”
This year’s central conference topics will be – smart cities, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, green technologies, FinTech and digital detox. Discussions will take place on 6 stages, gathering more than 100 inspirational speakers from all over the world, and the total number of participants will be around 1300.
In cooperation with the high profile international accelerators 500 Startups (USA) and Rockstart (Netherlands), as well as the Latvian Business Angels Network (LatBAN), investors will search for Europe’s best startup companies at the festival. Startups will also have the opportunity to participate in the Expo and present their idea to some of the most influential investors in the world, media and other festival participants.
Seed stage startups (from €250K and up) are invited to participate in a top-grade pitch competition. The 10-15 best startups will have an opportunity to participate in the individual workshop with 500 Startups mentors on November 26th, and the best 3-5 will pitch their ideas on the main stage at the Digital Freedom Festival on November 28th. The winner will receive a fast track to the final negotiation round for the next 500 Startups batch in Silicon Valley.
Co-founder and CEO of the DFF Dagnija Lejiņa says “Our event is more than just a startup conference. It is a multi-event meeting platform, which takes a special interest in uniting the world of technology. Nevertheless, our intention is to serve as a springboard for the future of European startups, and to provide a place for startups to test their ideas before they enter international waters.”
