Grocery shopping app Bring! raises €1.2 million to expand into new markets

The Swiss grocery shopping app Bring! recently secured about €1.2 million in a seed financing round with angels investors. Furthermore 7 private investors from the online startup investment platform investiere.ch contributed close to CHF 500’000 to this financing round. The seven digit funding round will help the young company from Zurich to implement new revenue streams and to expand into new markets.

Bring! was founded in the end of 2012 aims to simplify grocery shopping for you and everyone in your household. The social grocery shopping list app that allows numerous people to share a shopping list and coordinate via push notifications. The startup’s fundraising campaign on investiere.ch successfully closed in less than a month and Bring! was able to win over new shareholders with extensive experience and networks in retail, digital marketing and building and scaling up young businesses.

So far, the grocery shopping app Bring! has reached 1.5 million downloads and over half a million monthly active users. Bring! is also the only Swiss app that has ever been awarded the Google Editor’s Choice badge. These are handpicked apps chosen by Google based on their quality and great user interface.

Today Bring! counts 3 fulltime employees and does no paid marketing. The young company will use the fresh capital to expand the team, accelerate the growth and develop new features and applications.

“The new resources will also allow us to implement and expand current and new revenue streams and expand to new markets,” says Dominic Mehr, cofounder and CCO. “Germany will be one of our focus markets in the next phase, both on the user and business side.”
