Berlin-based cybersecurity startup ZenGuard secures a seed investment from Project A Ventures

ZenGuard, a Berlin-based startup focusing on internet security, just secured a mid six-figure seed investment from Project A Ventures (Update – April 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link). In addition, a round of renowned business angels, among them David Khalil, Philipp Kreibohm and Robert Maier, also announced their participation in this financing round.

ZenGuard was founded earlier this year in Manchester, and offers a browser plugin that protects user privacy while surfing on the internet. Installed in just one click, it encrypts outgoing and incoming browser traffic.

The startup has already participated in the first cycle of the Axel Springer Plug&Play Accelerator, which supports founders in developing and implementing digital business models. By the way, to gain some context, Axel Springer recently invested €30 million into the Berlin-based company builder Project A, who is the lead investor in this round.

The Project A’s investment in ZenGuard will be used for technical development and the further growth of the team. Additionally, Project A will be involved with operational expertise, by giving advice to ZenGuard team in all fields relevant for success, such as performance marketing and IT.

Simon Specka, co-founder and Managing Director of ZenGuard, stated: “We are very glad having won Project A as a partner. This seed financing will help us developing our technology and our business model. Besides financial support, we are convinced that we can also benefit from the know-how and the experiences of Project A’s experts. We are sure that together we can make ZenGuard even more successful”.
