Berlin-based language learning apps Babbel reach 10 million downloads

The language learning startup Babbel today announced it has achieved a record of 10 million downloads for its mobile apps.

Berlin-based company’s apps are available in over 190 countries. English is the most popular language to learn on the Babbel app, followed by Spanish and French. Babbel users have the option to learn languages flexibly and on-the-go in addition to the online system.

Markus Witte, the CEO of Babbel, stated: “From the very beginning, Babbel was intended as a cross-platform learning system, and now, after six years, the time is ripe for this. The number of Babbel’s mobile users will soon surpass that of web users. This is a general trend that ties in perfectly with our product concept,”
