Madrid-based Ticketea secures $4 million in a Series B round

Ticketea, a Madrid-based DIY ticketing platform, has just secured $4 million in a Series B funding round, led by Seaya Ventures. The fresh capital will be used by Ticketea to create new products in the space of mobile commerce, to strengthen its leading position in Spain and for its international expansion.

Ticketea was founded in 2010 and recently stated that it is already profitable. Since its founding, Ticketea has sold $26 million worth of tickets through its platform – in over 10 Spanish speaking countries. Ticketea’s fremium service is designed to help small and medium-sized event organisers to promote their activities and sell their tickets.
