Language learning startup Bliu Bliu wins TechChill Baltics 2013

The new startup conference TechChill Baltics took place in Riga, Latvia, on February 12, 2013 – and the winner of this year’s event is Bliu Bliu (Update – March 2023: The website seems to be out of use, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

The startup’s founder, Claudio Santori, an Italian who moved to Lithuania, founded Bliu Bliu as a new way to learn languages. He doesn’t believe in classes, grammar, and lessons as the best way to learn a second language and, according to him, it’s not economically viable to produce a language course for a ‘minor’ language either.

This Lithuanian language learning startup is, for this reason, working on a platform that can find content on the internet for your vocabulary level and in topics that you like. The idea is that if in the online content there are only few words that you don’t know, then the learning curve is more gentle and you are more self-confident and engaged. Moreover, Bliu Bliu is able to challenge you a little bit more every day, helping you to improve to your proficiency even faster.

The startup aims to launch its MVP in Riga, and offer its service in several European languages thereafter. Check out their pitch by Bliu Bliu’s founder Claudio Santori:
