Worth reading: Paymill, Delivery Hero, Drivy, GetYourGuide

There are so many interesting stories out there and unfortunately we don’t have the time to cover all of them. With our section “Worth reading” we provide you once in a while with some links to interesting articles of other publications:

Paymill-logoThe Berlin-based clone company Paymill has picked up €10 million from Holtzbrinck Ventures and Sunstone Capital. With Rocket Internet’s many operations pulling in tens of millions in investment each month, the flotation rumor comes as no surprise. Visit GigaOm.com to read more (Update – March 2023: The article seems to be not visible anymore, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

Delivery-Hero-logoDelivery Hero‘s co-founder Fabian Siegel has stepped down, leaving Niklas Östberg as sole CEO of the young food delivery platform. The company, however, has insisted that the move is not linked to the €58,050 fine given out to Siegel and six other employees of Delivery Hero – which operates as Lieferheld in Germany – for copying menu information from rival Pizza.de back in 2010. Find out more and visit SiliconAllee.com (Update – March 2023: The article seems to be not visible anymore, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

GetYourGuide-logoThe Zurich-based startup GetYourGuide has raised $14 million in fresh funding. The capital injection comes from Spark Capital and Highland Capital Partners Europe. GetYourGuide enables people to book tours and activities online to avoid the usual hassle and skip the queuing at popular attractions all around the world. Check out the full article on TheNextWeb.com (Update – March 2023: The article seems to be not visible anymore, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

drivy-logoToday Voiturelib announced they have changed their name to Drivy, and can now be found at Drivy.com (Update – March 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link). The French startup raised €2 million from Index Ventures last summer. The new name “Drivy” resonates more internationally than Voiturelib and may help the young company during its (possible) international rollout.
