Bathrooms-com-logoIan Monk, a former UBS Executive who set his wife up with the Bathrooms.com website to keep her “from getting bored“, has sold a £7.5 million stake in the UK-based business to Lord Jacob Rothschild’s Augmentum Capital Fund. BlaBlaCar-logoBlablaCar, a European carpooling marketplace that connects any driver with empty seats with paying passengers, has now launched its iPhone app in the UK. The_SamwersThe Samwer brothers’ Swedish backer Kinnevik has spent €300 million on Rocket Internet over last quarter. In its 2012 Q1 results, Kinnevik reports an approx. €300 million investment in Rocket Internet and portfolio companies over the last three months, about the same (€305 million) that it invested over the whole of 2011. GetTaxi-LogoGetTaxi has today announced the release of the second version of its cab-ordering iOS app, as it seeks to capitalize on its growth over the past two years. Founded in 2010, GetTaxi has since raised more than $10 million in funding, and its mobile apps now serve users in the UK, Israel and Russia. Find out more about GetTaxi on TheNextWeb.
