Startup Camp Berlin 2012 launch a new competition with exciting prizes

From 16-17 March, Startup Camp Berlin 2012 (SCB12) is offering both young and seasoned entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet with like-minded people and enrich their entrepreneurial skills in a number of workshops and presentations (Update – February 2023: The startup camp seems to be no longer in business under this website and we therefore deactivated the link).

One highlight of the SCB12 is the ‘bitcrowd CampChamp’ startup competition. In cooperation with bitcrowd, a full-service website and mobile development agency seated in Berlin, and lindenpartners, a legal advisory firm, Startup Camp Berlin 2012 offers the competition winner the development of a prototype software – for free. That said, the ‘bitcrowd CampChamp’ competition will be especially attractive for teams that are missing a technical co-founder.

The prize includes a first software version, with a total of 40 person-days of work for conception, project management and development. lindenpartners has also jumped on board and added another 4K€ worth of legal advice. To top it all off, HU Innovation GmbH, the incubator at Humboldt University, has additionally decided to offer 6 months of free office space for the winning team. As of now, teams can apply for the SCB12 startup competition here (Update – February 2023: The page seems to be no longer working and we therefore deactivated the link).

Concerning their support, bitcrowd’s founders Dirk Holzapfel and Christoph Beck stated: “The bitcrowd CampChamp is an opportunity for us to support the Berlin startup scene and at the same time do what we do best: bringing ideas to the net. With our support we would like to show how effective and goal-oriented agile methodologies are in software development and convince other startups to join this way of working.”
