Check out Oxygen Accelerator, a new British startup accelerator

Oxygen Accelerator is the name of a brand new Birmingham-based investment programme. The startup accelerator, which offers intensive training and mentoring for technology startups, launched today and is open to receive applications from tech founders worldwide. The deadline for applications is on June 30 2011.

The 13-week intensive boot camp will be based at Birmingham’s Science Park Aston from 1 September 2011, and will provide selected groups with the necessary equipment and environment to be able to grow their products and ideas. Oxygen Accelerator is offering a so called “evergreen funding” of up to £20,000 in return for a 6% equity stake.

Mark Hales, co-founder of the Oxygen Accelerator, recently stated: “Oxygen Accelerator will be the start of a great new wave of entrepreneurs drawn to Birmingham and who will have access to all the tools necessary to be the next big thing. We want to see people from all stages in their business development, from those with ideas to those who are ready to seek funding and want a supportive network to help them accelerate to the next level. Oxygen is here to literally breathe life into a vision and turn it into reality. Our aim is to bring the best to Birmingham and encourage them to stay”.
